Following a generous bequest from the late Mr. Eric Deakin, a former Society Swimming Judge, it was decided to institute a special award in his name. It is the intention to award just one medal per year to whomever the Committee considers is the most meritorious water based rescue in the Merseyside area. The award will be considered each year following the AGM.

The new award will be a gilded Swimming and Lifesaving Medal, suitably inscribed with the recipient’s name and the date the act was performed. It will be the sole decision of the Committee as to who shall be awarded the medal.
