Parchment

This ornate certificate printed on special paper is the highest of the Society’s paper awards. It was introduced into the Society’s award structure in 1947 and it measures 320 mm wide by 426 mm long. They are currently printed by Spiers Brakell Ltd, of Liverpool and are framed and glazed. The wording states that “It is given with the best thanks of the committee”. This is the only certificate that includes a representation of the four currently issued medals of the Society. The top left shows the marine medal, the top right shows the reverse of the marine, general and fire medals. The bottom left shows the general medal, whilst the bottom right shows the fire medal. In the centre at the bottom is a representation of the swimming and lifesaving medal. The certificate is signed by both the chairman and the secretary on behalf of the committee.
