The “Certificate” is the Society’s most frequently used award and is the next in order of importance. There have been at least two versions of it to date. It measures 272 mm wide by 342 mm long and is framed and glazed. The current issue is printed by Sharpe & Kellet Ltd, of Liverpool. It is awarded with medal awards and also on its own when a lower level of award than medal or parchment is deemed appropriate. Its top left and right hand corners have representations of the marine medal obverse and reverse on them. The certificate is signed by both the chairman and the secretary on behalf of the committee.
